Can you rise and sit in trot for dressage in the same test? Does it affect your marks if you start in rising then change to sitting?
My horsey has good centre lines in rising trot but is a lot better in sitting for circles.. I'm only doing Prelims.....
Any one know?

nope you can do as you like in Prelim, as much as it looks neater to keep it consistant really i'd do what is best for your horse. At elementary it is compulsory to sit trot apart from medium trot where you are allowed to rise.

It is compulsory to sit for Medium tests and above. The ruling for Elementary has changed, and rising is allowed for all trot work
Judges generally feel that horses at Prelim level go better in rising trot.
Below Medium level it is entirely your choice.
