I have a beautiful piebald youngster who i am going to show in hand this summer and when she is fully trained, under saddle too.
I am on the look out for a nice second hand saddle, inhand bridle and normal showing bridle but i don't know what colour to get.
I prefer brown tack and i know traditionally people show in brown tack too but i just wondered what colour would be best with her being black & white. Any advice would be great.
I'd love to post a photo to see what people think of her so if anyone would be willing to do it for me i would be most grateful !!

Any colour as long as it is brown! Black tack is not really done in showing - dark brown tack is correct- so good luck with the showing

Lilly is a traditional gypsy pony type but not heavy at all

We show coloureds, but have not had a pie, though we did show our friends Trad stallion at the BSPA champs last summer he is Piebald and as they did not have a decent show saddle, we tried our own on and it fitted perfectly, it is dark Havanna Barnsby WH saddle and bridel also dark and he looked fine in it (he won the class so must have been o.k.) If you go for the very dark browns they look far better than the lighter havanna and tans.

How old is your youngster? If she's 4 or over you don't need an inhand bridle, it's more correct to show in a ridden bridle

Hi nataliec, if you email me a piccy of Lilly I'll post it for you - melissa@ib2k.com I have a traditional cob, not up to showing though - he was so scared at our local show he wouldn't even go into the field! What part of East Yorkshire are you in?

Agree with the above, dark brown tack, Lynn Russell told me that even on a piebald horse black tack in the show ring is not done! Dressage arena or anything else then its fine.

Lynn Russell told me that even on a piebald horse black tack in the show ring is not done! Although she shows Draco in a black bridle
