some of you may remember my thread about a yearling that was frightened of her stable.
her problem were in a stable she would run around and rub her body especially her shoulder at the stable walls and lean in to them, dig the bedding roll and sit on her quarters in the corners with her eye about to pop out her head and would barge out or try to jump and would be wet with sweat in 10 mins she would also barge and tow when lead.
Vanessa Bee came out and we re taught her to lead which once she got the idea she picked it up really quickly although will try her lick now and again and step in to my space so has to be backed up but this has really made her trust me and she is alot less nervy i had to spend the last 10 days walking her around backing her up when she over steps the mark, in lots of short stints but finishing on a good note every time.
today we started to tackle the stable, we lead her in and out lots walked her around inside, then i unclipped her and walked around the stable and clipped her up building up to me walking out the door AND WE HAD NO BARGING OUT SHE JUST STOOD THERE
i know its going to take a long time before i can get her happy enough that i can leave her in a stable if i had to but her future now looks great and we have just got to build it up from here from a few sec to and hour and so on but with out stressing her but at the same time ending on a good note.
thank you for all the advice and help full ideas
her is a photo of me and Bea she is a welsh d yearling
