My mare used to be very obviously in season and has not been this year. Presumed maybe she had just chilled. She has just been to stud, and they gave her an injection to bring her in. So even though she was definately in season recently she was not really showing like she used to. In fact the stallion called and she was petrified!

Mine very rarely has a visible season, in fact I don't know that she's had any at all this year. Doesn't stop her having invisible ones though, especially early in the year.

I had a mare who never, in all the years I had her. showed when in season. When I bred from her she had to be helped by the vet to bring her to show so that we knew when to introduce her to the stallion and she conceived after the first covering.
Thank your lucky stars she is not a marish mare!
