to cut a long story short, she is 4moths old and stands at 13.2ish and already has his bits. he is not my foal but my next door`s foal. he cut his leg open and needed stitches, then he ripped them out! so Tracey(his owner) took him to the vets when they said he has got a growth problem, so the vet said to wean hem off mum and do not feed him any thing but a little bit of hay and he can only have a small paddock with no grass, and in 4-6 weeks have the chop. Fill really sorry for him now, he got a cut on his leg, hungry and no mum! here he is about 2months old:

I would have thought he would need lots of food if he has a growth problem, or is he too big? If she wants to sell him let me know I have a Haffie mare who would love a boyfriend to make babies with when he is old enough!!!

Unfortunately you can overdo the feeding and they end up with joint problems which affect them when full grown. Something like OCD I think it's called. Poor little lad. At that rate he'd make over 16h - imagine a Haffie at that size.

lol no i think she plans to keep him, not only that but he is booked up for the chop. yes he is to big, his bones are growing but his tendons are not so it is pulling his 2 front legs up. the blacksmith is comeing to clip a bit off his hells off soon.

they are growing Haffies bigger these days - around 15 - 15.2hh. But he does sound as of he is doing it all at the wrong time poor chap.
All the best for him.

Pip - they are beuatiful even at this height - finer though - they are breedingthem more "warmbloody" to appeal to a wider audience.
