well fluer is an amazing 8 weeks old now,she lives out as part of a herd and is so chilled and very good to handle,i have noticed over the last 2 weeks that her feet have become quite dry and she has developed a small split,shes growing well and just has her mothers milk to thank for that and good grass,do you think i should feed a very small amount of hoof suppliment some of the ground is dry and gritty,have you ever come across this,? thanks

Hi,
I always have my foals first trimmed at 8 weeks, not so much a trim as such but it allows the farrier to see if there are any potential problems and advise on anything if required....

thanks erarab,just had farrier today for the rest of my brood so baby had her feet looked at was a little angel,just going to give her some time ,was just a little worried cos of the wee split on her hoof so i will just keep an eye out, cheers j
