that because of the new log in you are sugar coating replies more, i dont mean being nasty i mean do you think you are saying things nicer than before? despite the nasties i actually preferred the old dg as people seemed to say things more honestly

Totally agree bassetthound!
I tried not to post nasty comments before as I don't think they help, but I must admit I miss reading some of them. And yes I think I maybe do try to be a little more tactful than before - I used to occassionally post using a different name if I wanted to be particularly blunt!

I think that a new dg is not going to change how people are. The nasties !! if we have any will show their true colours sooner or later because they just can,t help themselves. And the rest of us ? well I for one hope that I have always answered in a polite manner whichever dg I am on.

NAH Because i honestly think the nasties were "nice reguilars" who didnt have the guts to speak there mind, so now we will know who they are they wont come out anymore. sad though i like to give an honest(not nasty) oppinion which i shall continue to do but it will probably mean im labelled for doing so

Its early days yet, hopefully there will be more constructive and well thought out criticism than the previous just plain "nasty" anons.

I left the old site behind years ago after some truly vicious comments, I was foolish enough to post a photo Don't mind blunt critism but the evil comments with no way of being traced and stopped made the old site a pretty horrible place sometimes. Look forward to an honest an open forum and I hope we can all be brave enough to give a truthful comment but balance it with a bit of kindness and consideration

Nup. I say what I have to say, and I try to be honest (ie have my opinon) without being offensive.
Doesn't change whatever board I'm surfing, and I don't post differently on this new board from how I posted on the old one.
I never understood why lots of people on the old board were so thingy about 'nasties' or people posting as 'anon' - an anon opinion was still an opinion, and quite often a perfectly valid one - but you'd think people would be pleased about the new board making that a bit less likely.
Doesn't seem to be the case though.
Another of life's mysteries!

It won't change my replies. I've upset people in the past (sometimes by accident) and I'm sure I'll manage to do it again

No, I'm saying exactly the same as varkie now, as I said as varkie before. I never don't say something I want to, but there are ways & ways of saying things to someone!

I always felt terrible when people misunderstood me before and I still will do if it happens again. The only times I went anon was when I forgot or was too lazy to put my name in - but for once or twice I think where I was afraid my comments might attract nasties.

It's better to be able to think and really express what you want to say rather than just run something off and hide under Anon. Perhaps Bassethound you prefer the confrontational posts? It was too easy on the DG to let it rip, something you wouldn't do if you were talking to someone face to face.

I think some might think a bit more before they post, but then again some of the rplies on the old dg could be very nast , rather than just speaking your mind. I hope that I can get honest opinions and advise here and i hope I can be of some help and give advice without offending someone...however there are things regarding horses and riding that I will disagree with others on and sometimes it is just best to leave things rather than trying to convert people....like opinions on lunging for example...people will undoubtedly disagree, and I am sure I wont convince anyone over a dg on the net so....
