I've just bought a pair of really nice leather tendon boots, but the problem is they are really really stiff. Other than lots of use, has anyone got a quick fix to make them softer and easier to put on? Thanks

You can buy leather stretcher, but it really does make things stretch! Otherwise dubbin is supposed to be good, or you could oil them with neatsfoot, works on saddles!

When I buy anything leather and new... I buy a tin of neatfoot oil,...pop the leather into a water bucket and pour the oil on top, making sure that the oil has come into contact with all the leatherwork,..and leave it for 24 hours. Don't leave it at the stables, the atmosphere's too cold and the oil will solidify,...take it home and put it under the stairs or something.
The day after you should have found that the leatherwork has absorbed some of the oil,...the remainder you can pour back into the tin and re-use at some point in the future, when you need it!
