ok odd question but I'm curious, I gave up horses years a go not through choice and don't have anything to do with them now unfortunly as I have no time or money. I used to compete, bring on my own younsters, school competition horses..everything basically. But now the nearest thing I have to do with horses is this forum as there's usually advice I can give in in regards to schooling/riding. It really really gets me down, am I the only one in this position?

It's not an odd question at all!
I was horseless for years, and the only way I could get my fix was the IHDG and other forums.
I've just recently returned to horse-ownership, and I felt like I've been able to keep up on all the current ideas and thinking, as well as legislation (like ragwort and passports) and haven't missed out on anything!

I hadn't really thought there might be people on here who had nothing to do with horses. I expected there to be people who had regular lessons but didn't own, or people who helped friends out etc I guess the DG must be a nice way for people to still have something to do with horses

I think once you've caught this particular bug it never goes away!
When I rang my Mum to tell her I was buying another horse, she said "haven't you grown out of that yet?"
I'm 33 years old!!

I'll probably keep reading horsey boards in the future and I've already decided that when I lose my horse, I'm not going to get another one. Even though I love her dearly I do - not resent, that's the wrong word but I can't think of a better one - want to do other things and one thing horse ownership is, is time consuming!

Still horseless also, but hopefully not for long. I spent 25 years not being able to go near a horse because I was so allergic though--didn't enjoy that at all!
