Has anyone seen any comparisons between the Elevator and Albion KB bridles and the cheaper versions that are available? I'd like to get Sid one for Christmas but I'm not sure which is the best i.e. most comfortable.

I got an Elevator bridle for my lad last Christmas, I was very impressed by the quality of the leather work and the design of the bridle, my lad is sensitive over his poll area and the bridle has really helped him. The Elevator people are also extremely helpful, if you need a cob sized brow band to go with a full size bridle they will sort it out for you.

I want an elevator bridle for my GG, I like the fact that the weymouth can come without a throat latch as they are never long enough. I would want a snaffle for the time being though & on the website i cannot see what the set up is. (if i could just but a weymouth & remove the slip head?)

Rust, I would give them a call, they are super helpful and will be able to answer any questions you have.

I bought an elevator a few weeks ago and I've been really impressed with it. I bought a havana snaffle on and I love the colour, its really dark, and the leather is beautiful quality. Robin goes really really well in it, the only slight down-side is the crank noseband but I just put it on loosely. The delivery was super-speedy, both the bridle and matching inner grip elevator reins (which I paid extra for) came the day after I ordered them. I deicded to buy the reins so I could be 100% certain they would match the colour of the bridle exactly.

I have an Elevator snaffle bridle and love it, so does my horse - I too only do the crank up loosely. Leather is lovely.
However, a friend has the Comfort bridle which she bought from Ebay for half the price and to be honest it is very very similar, leather maybe not quite as good, but difficult to tell the difference really. Only down side is that the Comfort noseband is slightly wider I think and I have only ever seen them with flash nosebands, but my friend very cheaply got someone to remove the loop and sew it across and you would never know it had been there.
I would certainly buy the cheaper version if I needed another one.

I got one off ebay (snaffle for hacking in) no flash noseband but it is a crank - leather is good quality, use it most days and have had it about 8 months and it still looks like new - £23

I could never find the elevator to actually get my hands on & have a look! So I ended up getting the Albion one which one of the local tack shops stocked. I've been very happy with it, and my mare seems to really like it.

I had a discussion with my friend (who competes on some of the best dressage horses in the world), he says comfort bridles are a waste of money and he uses the poll gel pads on all his horses. I use an Albion and thinks its great but it made me think twice about getting another for my other horse, probably try the much cheaper gel pad first.

One of the design elements I like on my Elevator is the fact that the poll strap is cut back around the ears, which my boy does seem to appreciate.
