Hi,
Thankfully its not my horse who's homeless!
A little background:
Dandy is a 15hh MW cob gelding, Bright bay, 6yrs. He is owned by a 52 yr old novice woman who has decided he is simply too much for her and has had him at the yard where I keep my horse on sales livery for about 2 months now. Previous to this she had him at another yard on sales livery also, still with no sucess. She paid 4.5 k for him less than 6 months ago.
Dandy is for sale because the woman claims he bucked her off. He is a forward going horse and since we have had him hasn't put a foot wrong. I have been riding him and taken him to SJ clinics (over about 2"9- 3ft) been to clear round SJ indoors, hacked him alone and in company etc. He is 100% to shoe, clip, catch box and really easy to have around. Since he has been on sales livery he has been on trial twice and returned both times, the first family found him to forward and the second said he bucked their duaghter off in an SJ warm up ring. His owner has had his back, teeth ect. done and its deff not pain related. I personally belive its just his cheeky nature and he just tests you out if he thinks he can. He has never bucked with me on top or anyone else from our yard. I think he just sees a novice coming and has a bit of fun. He's forward going to ride, a bit joggy at times (but never will go anywhere) and is really quite fun. He has hunted, loves XC and jumps well, without looking at anything.
The dilema- HIs owner can no longer afford sales livery and wants rid of him by the end of next week, else he will be sold to a dealer (and to be honest hes far to quality for that as we haven't found him to have any real issues). If anyone is intrested she has said she will take 1.5k for him. I am asking here becuase hes a lovely horse who deserves a nice home pretty sharpish. If someone was a confident rider and wants a fun cheap horse with no hangups he's here and he MUST GO. She had previously advertised him for loan for dosen't want to risk him coming back as she can't afford it. He has been in H&H for 3.5k but no sucess. If it was the spring we would easily get that for him.
