I would like to see about booking this for my Hubby's birthday, as he has always gone on about going on it. I did e-mail with questions that where answered, except one, you pay half the money for the course, and I would like to go on it to, I would like to know, if you had to cancel due to an emergency only, is there anywhere you can get insurance cover? How have you got on with this course, this way? Have you had to cancel? It is nearly £500 deposit for both of us, and about £100 to take our own horses, did you take your horse on this course, and was it beneficial to you both? Pleased to hear anything.

I did the 5 day foundation course about two years ago now and I took my horse Solsti. I found it the most wonderful 5 days and I felt that I learnt so much on it, plus it was fantastic to be able to devote all your time to your horse and learning, such a luxury!
My horse had loading problems, so Kelly used him to show how to load a nervous loader, she had him loading himself in about 20 minutes and she then had me loading him and then some of my class mates. Solsti came back a very chilled out horse (which was a definite difference) and I think he benefitted greatly from the course.
I would highly recommend it!

I went on this course last year, but I was very lucky yo get a last minute cancellation, so I paid in full at the time I booked it, so I can't help on that, I'm afraid!
The course is amazing....imagine spending 9 hours a day in the company of a dozen other horsey people, and talking about and learning about horses with the experts all day long ....heaven!
I also took my two horses with me, and I'm so glad I did! They were used for most of the demos.....join up (Kelly demonstrated join up with one of them - talk about being worked on by the expert!), saddle fitting, long-lining, leading, riding assessment, etc. The only thing they weren't involved in was the loading work....cos they are both excellent loaders, so that would have made for a very easy demo!
They were spoiled rotton by everyone else on the course, and they behaved impeccably. I was so proud when a couple of the RAs on the course commented that both horses were a credit to me....i was grinning for days after those comments!
I say - GO FOR IT!

Sounds good, and we do want to take our own horses,I have a phone no to ring, and they said they could give details on BB's, but really we would prefer to stay on our horsebox hubby and I, as have living /sleeping accomodation on it. We have got some books from the BHS site, about routes all over the place, so looking into that for next year, and some you can stay on your own horsebox, and have stabling, or grazing for your horse. Either weekends away or weeks away, and some have tuition in different things, and guides, also can join rides with other trekkers.
