Noticed today my mare has started to lick the wall. is this a vit dif if so what should i get her

could be a deficiency....or is she bored??
try giving a broad spectrum multi vitamin supplement. i use feedmarks benevit......and theres 50% off at the moment for your first order!!! bonus!
you could alos try a stable lick, this would keep your horse amused too!!

Put half a "Rockie" mineral lick (house brick size) in her manger, or a whole one in a holder on the wall. I prefer it in the manger 'cos it also stops them rushing their feeds. MerryChristmas! ;D

Stable walls are high in salt ! It's the new diet on the block (Tee Hee ! Couldn't resist !)

Does she do this after a treat-I have seen several horses lick walls, doors etc after a treat or feed. I was told it was to do with prolonging the taste but am not sure-if it did we'd all be licking the walls after chocolate!

Yes it's normally a sign of your horse lacking in salt,try getting a salt lick,one of my old horses did this i got her a salt lick and it soon stopped.lol@firefly
