As a surprise for my wife I am trying to trace her former horse just to establish if her mare is still alive. My wife often talks about Magiska and I would love to be able to tell her that Madge is doing well. As a bit of background information my wife's parents (surname Woolford) owned Magiska from 1991 to about 1995 when Magiska (aka Madge/Gizzy) sadly had to be sold. It is not an exaggeration to say that my wife was utterly devoted to Madge and it was the end of an era when she was sold to The Conquest Centre/Fortune Centre Riding School for the Disabled at Norton Fitzwarren in 1995. Magiska is a chestnut Arab mare. Foaled in 1981 and sired by Sky Flight (Sky Crusader) and Fairy Magic (Indian Magic/Farette). Her freezemark number is 79N8. Madge was about 14.3hh with one white sock (near hind) and blaze. Her Arab Horse Society certificate number is 2538/198. I cant attach a photo of Madge and my wife (probably during Pony Club days) which may be useful but it is on Tracing Equines - www.tracingequines.co.uk/freezemares.htmlIf anyone has any news, good or bad, I would be grateful to know. My email address is julian.kinder@mccarthyandstone.co.uk and my mobile is 07795 643981. Thank you very much for any help you can afford me. My best wishes and have a lovely Christmas, Julian (Kinder)

Can't help either I'm afraid... wish I could for you!
And Yes... what a wonderful person you are for trying to trace Madge for your wife... I sincerely hope you find some positive feedback... what a fantastic present...at anytime of the year, not just Christmas....
Your wife is one hell of a lucky woman to have someone so thoughtful and sensitive by her side...
Merry Xmas to you and your family too Julian.

Is there any chance the riding school's still open? Maybe they'd be able to tell you what happened from there. I checked Allbreedpedigree.com for you, although her dam and sires details are there there's nothing for Magiska good luck though i really hope you're able to find her

Good luck Julian, would be lovely for you to get some (good) info on magiska in time for xmas. Have you tried contacting the company she was freeze marked through? I believe they can pass a letter onto the current owner (if the mark is still registered) asking for them to contact you. The arab society may also be able to do the same for you. I'm sure with all of the info you've given someone somewhere will recognise her.

Dear All, Thanks ever so much for your input. Sadly Farmkey and the Arab Horse Society do not have any details of any new registered owners since my wife sold Magiska, and the Conquest Centre don't have any forwarding sale details either. Bit frustrating, but hey.... Any other ideas would be gratefully received and thank you for your good wishes. Hope you all have great Christmas's, cheers Julian

Can I suggest that you try through passpost agencies? if she is still alive she may have a passpost and with a freezemark this will be registered onto the passport?? Only a thought which may help.
Good luck!
