...where you totally forget how to ride?
I'm really mad at myself today....silly cause I shouldn't be, it's only one day.
I just could not ride today. I couldn't get my seat right, was tipping forwards a bit as a result, couldn't seem to keep my weight in my stirrups, hands were all over the place.
Dunno if it was coz I was so cold, or a bit ill still (been really ill over Xmas), or what, but I was RUBBISH. Poor Dan was getting so confused as I just wasn't asking him right!
In the end I gave up and just did some trot work on a long rein to at least excercise him, he took it upon himself to stretch down nicely too so it wasn't a total loss. I'm just feeling frustrated now.
Anyone else have these days or am I just a lost cause?

Have you not ridden for a few days
I'm terrible if i haven't ridden. Had four days not riding over Xmas and was struggling to do rising trot when i rode again and felt all over the place(and looked it when had someone video me riding)

Ohh i have them days alot! When im tired really. I just cant seem to get comfy and cant be bothered making the effort, so then i ride really crap and normally only end up sitting on her for about 5mins before i get off! Now if im tired i long rein her or lead her out instead because it isnt fair on her just because im tired! I hate them days though!

I had a riding session videod the other day on a horse I had never ridden before. (It was a one day riding posture course). Seat didn't look too bad, and legs were fine - but my HANDS! Yeah gods, talk about scared to pick up a contact - you could have had a double row of washing hanging on both reins! I know I try to be sympathetic with the horse's mouths but it was ridiculous. So I booked a lesson three days later with my usual instructor, told her I needed to work on contact, getting the right feel etc - and the contact was fine. I have put it down to PMT...
