Awful. Wasn't there a thread on here a couple of weeks ago saying a similar thing had happened to some horses in Buckinghamshire?

It is awful - don't people think? The ponies in Bucks was manes, tails were untouched. One of the ponies was destined to be shown this year - can't be now as the mane won't grow back nicely.

Good luck to anyone using my boy's tail for extensions - it would take them weeks to get all the sh*t out of it!!!! People are just sick though - what earthly use is a bit of mane or tail?! Just watch out for anyone suddenly advertising horse hair jewellery...

I've heard of hair being taken for rocking horses but would have thought that more likely to happen before Christmas. No offence intended towards rocking horse makers in general, if true it would likely be amateurs just making a one-off, otherwise it would happen more often I suppose.

Weren't some of the wigs in LOTR (Legolas in particular) made of horse hair? Where did they get all the horses to donate?
Anyway, I doubt anyone would want my Buddy's mane, for it wouldn't look natural as human hair, and it is not soft enough for a rocking horse. Fawn might be a canidate as an Arab, but her mane is getting a little thin so there wouldn't be much to steal.
