She was in their yard, which is fenced in with a gate, its a farm gate and is closed but not locked, a crew cab pick up pulled up outside the gate and when it pulled away the dog was gone, the pick up pulled off before the owner had a chance to get outside. We live about a mile from a huge scrap yard which attracts people from all over the country and our road is pretty much the main road there so she could be anywere by now, poor baby.
Will do the doglost tonight.

I am so sorry. We had one of our babies stolen last March. It is the worse. Please contact your local paper. They helped us a lot and she was on the paper front page for 2 weeks.
She was also in google. We never got her back though.

So sorry to hear of this despicable theft. Hope that by some miracle the dog is found and returned home safely. The poor family must be devastated.

Have they got insurance, as insurance should pay for posters and ransom money. Not that it is any really reasurance as a dog missing is terrible anyway, it is their pet, member of the household, sob!

A little ShihTsu (sp?) cross was stolen from near the yard in the summer, when the thieves found he was only a cross breed they abandoned him on the side of a main road. He was picked up and reunited with his owner but found dead a few days later, they reckoned a heart attack from stress. Barstewards, thay can have gained nothing from that poor little dogs distress

It is amazing what lengths "people" will go to to aquire what they think they want. We used to often have "travellers" in the area when building and roads were being done and we would just be going about our lives along with the dogs (working spaniels)and vans would pull up asking us if the dogs were for sale or did we have any puppies?
We used to detour home, so they couldn't follow us etc. You just never know whose watching you these days. Scarey when you think about it, but seriously nothing is sacred anymore.
Jill - Amber has a reflective and flashing collar now as I can't see her in the woods in the dark. I knew there had to be a sensible reason that mine are white with coloured points!
