A fitting way to remember Karen's contributions as one of the early RAs.

I would like to come out of the closet! Firstly I would like to say - hello, I'm back on here after a long break due to personal problems taking over. I was lucky enough to be the first winner of the scholarship and asked Kelly for anonimity on my foundation course! I of course had a fantastic time but its meant so much to me in the years following. To cut a long story short it was sadly ironic but my sister bought herself a young PBA (with issues), to be a long term equine buddy, but she developed cancer not long after buying him. She battled on for a couple of years but died in February. Early last year because of the knowledge and confidence I had gained from IH I brought Wizzard to my yard with the idea of sending him back to her last Autumn, when she was strong enough to take him back. Unfortunately she didnt get better and I found myself struggling through the winter with Wizzard and my own horse, with not enough money to keep either of them due to getting a divorce. I did my best to find him a permanent home, but failed so at my sisters request I arranged it with The Blue Cross to have him so that she could be sure that he would have a secure future. My own horse has been taken over by a wonderful friend. I would now like to make a public Thank You to Lynne and Kelly, and of course Karen. Ive helped a few horses by demonstrating to their owners that they too can follow an IH path, but the help I was able to give my sister in her time of need means more to me than anything. Wendy X

Wendy that was so moving. I feel most things happen for reasons..and at the time of trauma and grief we do question.. why? but karen left behind a great tribute to her and every horse helped and person helped by her even reading your story.. was for a reason.. your Sister was not here in vain either.. although this may well be a harder time for you this Christmas..but I bet Wizzrd taught you a few things as well
Thank you.. have a peaceful Christmas..and a happier 08

Wendy - I remember about your sister having cancer. What a fitting tribute that you went on the course though and were able to help others. I hope life is back on course for you now - may 2008 bring you many good times:-)

Oh Wendy I've just seen this. I'm so sorry about your sister. It was lovely to have you on the course. I will make sure Karen's sisters see this. We have two more sponsorship offers this year and news will be coming about those soon. Love and Best Wishes Kelly

Hi Wendy - I hope it's ok to post this but I'm pretty sure that I met your sister and spent quite a lot time with Wizzard when I was working towards being an Equine Touch practitioner.
If I have the right person, then your sister was a beautiful person and she adored Wizzard.
Pls feel free to PM if you want to, it would be nice to know if my hunch is right
Deb x
