I don't think it makes a huge difference one way or the other. I'm lucky in that I've been able to stay at home with all 3 of my children and luckily none of us have become clingy!!! Sometimes I miss the social aspect of work but I'm so busy that I don't think about it often. I've also been able to take some courses and get myself ready for a whole new career which I'll be able to do from home. Like I say, I've been really really fortunate. I think there is a big difference between someone working 9-5 and someone who works all the hours under the sun and never sees their children. Children are pretty adaptable I reckon and if its what they are used to then I their shouldn't be any problems. I think also that some women don't find staying at home very fullfilling or stimulating and need to be working. They would probably be very unhappy if they had to stay at home and are probably better parents for feeling worthwhile as a human as well as a parent. Personally, I always wanted to stay at home but it is a personal choice (plus I get to spend more time with neddies!!). Dawn - The little'un will be just fine and you're a great mum whatever you decide. x

Hi Dawn
Go for it! If I were a tot again I would much prefer to have lots of attention and socializing through the daytime and then be the center of Mummy and Daddies world in the evenings and weekends and as said before quality is better than quantity... She will also gain an independent spirit.. you will probably find that you do more interesting and exciting things with S as a result of not being under each others feet all day and you will have the money to take her to the zoo and swimming etc and put some away for a rainy day.. It's great that you can be there for her when she is poorly too.
Best of luck... I am a little green eyed!! lol I wish someone would head hunt me and offer me lots of pennies! ;D
