I thought i would share these with those who like poetry!!
They were all written by Mary Lascelles.
Which is your favorite?
We remember the days when the skies were blue
With a pony to treasure all simmer through,
A friend, a dog side by side
Carefree, with time to ride.
In the meadows we'd find a cooling stream
Then walk through the woods, chatter and dream
Or wander down lanes past fields of wheat
To the village green with more friends to meet,
They were lazy days, pony days and fun
With a touch of magic in the sun.

Dance for me my beauty, step out to the beat,
For even when there's silence I hear music in your feet.
So rhythmically you move, there's cadence in your stride,
As freely you move forward, your neck is arched with pride.
So balanced at all paces, with ease I read your mind,
For my reins could be of silk, your outlook is so kind.
So dance for me my beauty, show them we're as one,
Just as when alone in the morning sun.

Words of wisdom in the warm spring air
And when you're young it's nice to share,
With one who knows what to do each day
When they bring the feed or rack the hay.
A companion who feels when you're sensitive, shy
And when the moon is full stands close by.

We must remember to train him with care
Our joy and pleasure with him always share.
A language we'll learn, balance and grace,
As muscles grow strong, rhythm and pace,
It all takes time so patience we'll need,
With an eye to his comforts and sense with his feed.
But when the years have gone by and he's floating on air
With the crowd applauding, what secrets we'll share.

You've enslaved my heart oh golden steed,
I long to follow where're you lead.
Perchance your dreams entwine with mine,
To ride the wind o'er turf so fine.
Your flaxen mane will brush my face,
As fleet of foot away you race.
You weave your spell with rakish stride,
Oh untamed spirit of maverick pride.

They give their hearts, we know not why
Bequeath serenity, there is no tie.
Through our lives our dreams they hold
Noble spirits, kind yet bold.
They were all written by Mary Lascelles.
