temprement..as long as its confirmation isnt dreadful! all the others you can teach it. i wouldnt bother about a horse having spot on confirmation as i dont do a lot of showing but i wouldnt want one that was aweful

My main interest is showing, but still the most important thing for me is temperament. Its disheartening to work with a horse that works against you.

Temperament, closely followed by conformation.

I'm afraid on both occasions I've gone for what felt like the right horses. JJ struck me as being a bit twitchy and manic--actually he isn't most of the time but he does have his moments, and while he is a good first horse for us he's terrified most of our friends We bought him mainly because he was obviously desperately clever. H was very bolshy for a wild pony and took it upon herself to bite my son very hard on the cheek when he first met her (she is a little s0d after all). Not sure if that was a good reason to buy a pony but we did want something that could stick up for itself against JJ, so she seemed ideal. So I guess we bought for temperament, but not really in an obvious way!

I know you're doing market research, but d'ya think you could maybe not do quite as many posts/polls? None of those are most important to me, it's a mixture, but I need a competition horse.
