25 miles, 40- 1 hour train for a big company...either that or stacking shelfs as there's nothing where I live for a career lol
The travelling and cost is awful but worth it career/money wise

Or start up your own business, what can you do/what do you like doing, can you think of anything that there might be a market for in the area you want to move to? Then try to get an open university qualification on it. Would have to be a bit adventurous though...

Hubby has to work in London during the week so I don't see him Tuesday - Friday, only way we can get a good wage coming in!

We don't have a university degree but work from home in the service industry. Nothing airy fairy. actually fixing machines. I used to travel 100's of miles a week, what the hell for. We don't have any money but we do have a life!!!!

Set up my own business and travel to different parts of Europe to work for a few days every month or do the work in my home office. I don't live too far out in the sticks though. Hubby has a 45 minute drive to work and we've just got Broadband internet, which helps my business a lot! Basically, doing this has meant that I have more control and flexibility in my working life, can have the horses at home, don't need to pay other people to look after my children, can escape into the countryside every evening and weekend.
The most difficult part is being isolated from friends, family and work colleagues. I have to keep in touch with them all via the internet, which is a great leap forward in interpersonal communication media. However, it's not the same as having them in the same town and being able to pop round when I feel like it.
