There's been a lot of talk about dog's being held to ransom lately and on Sunday my ex MIL called to say Khan, the dog bought for me by the ex, had gone missing. I have been separated from the ex for 18 month or so but the dog stayed in his care as he was happier with him and I was moving back home with the folks so it wasn't practical to keep him. Apparently Matt (the ex) went out and left Kahn with the run of the house and the garden. When he returned Khan was missing and the front door was open.. It seems he was taken and that they went in through the garden out the back and walked out of the front door leaving it open.... Khan is a Rottweiller and dead friendly! Why o why Matt left him with the run of the place like that I don't know. Khan's a gorgeous dog and is entire... so whoever has him is onto a winner. The reason Matt's Mum Sharon called me was because we had Khan microchipped and the docs are in my name etc still with my current mob no. We had hoped that if he had just 'got out' he would be found and scanned at a vets or dog warden etc... This hasn't happened and he's been gone since sunday. I feel sad cos he was our pet and even though we aren't together (praise that lord!!) I wouldn't want anything bad to happen to Khan. x Good vibes his way would be really good. I just hope he's safe x

Thanks Gem... Yeah I hope so.. surely at some point he will end up getting scanned at a vets somewhere? I guess it's just a waiting game... I'm not in touch with Matt, as we parted on bad terms but Sharon will keep me informed... Cross fingers and wait I guess x

Really sorry to hear this Lisa. Phone around all the vets in your area and maybe a little further beyond too, then if they get any clients coming in with a new rottie they can scan it, as it's unlikely they would just routinely cos the people could say they have had it for ages. Hope you get him back soon, will be thinking of you!

Hi Peeps, I've just returned to the office today as I work Tues wed and thurs here and it's the only time I have to play online. There's no news I don't have any up to date pics of him as I have been split from the ex for at least a yr and a half I guess. I'm also not in contact with him, but his Mum has been the one doing the running. I know where he lives but don't have a phone No and I'm not gonna 'pop round' as I left on really bad terms. We are quite certain Khan's been stolen. I have noticed a lot signs up with rewards offered for supposedly 'lost' dogs in Folkestone (where Khan went missing from).. He never wore a collar but had a small chip out of his tongue where he was bitten by a Chinchilla at a young age LOL! He never put his tongue in the cage after that!! Also he would growl if you asked him to sit and then said 'paw' !! Don't know why.. he just did. I can just see everyone checking rottie tongues and asking them to sit etc! Thanks for all your suggestions. x and nice comments about my neddie! x x

Your ex needs to get an incident number off the police and tell him not to be fobbed off, they don't consider stolen dogs as a priority.
He also needs to contact Dog Lost and Lost Dogs, they will give help and advice on what to do and also send out emails to everyone on their web site that is in a large area around were he lives.
When your dog is registed on both Dog Lost and Lost Dogs, they go onto another list were the details are sent out all over the country incase the dog has been moved.
Good luck, and I hope you find him soon.
