Hi. I was wondering if any of you out there has a recipe for potato scones and Yorkshire pudding?
My daughter moved to New Zealand and hasn't had any since going, i don't know if they don't have them, or if maybe different from ours.
Can anyone help?
Thanks

Potato scones are--mashed spuds (with a bit of fat or milk/soya milk), little bit of flour, chives or onion or garlic or mustard or pretty much anything for a bit of flavouring (sun dried tomato and olive is good!). Knead spuds and flour together til you get a not too sticky dough, add the other bits, roll out or squash into shape, drop on hot oiled griddle til cooked. Very nice with soup! Can't help on the yorkshire puds tho, bit too eggy for me

i have the best recipe for yorkshire puddings given to me by my old farrier 4 eggs 1 mug of plain flour 1 mug of milk 1 1/4 mug of water whisk it all up leave for half an hour put oil (beef dripping is best) in a oven dish (this amount will do a full size roasting dish ) put oven onto 230 or gas mark 7 put alot of oil in dish and put in oven when oil is hot (smoking) make sure all pan is covered in oil then pour in the yorkshire pudding mix put in oven, on a low shelf as they will rise huge and cook for about 20 mins in yorkshire we have this first with gravy as a starter good luck and remember DO NOT open the door until ready

When I make Yorkies, I use a couple of rounded tablespoons of Plain flour, pinch of salt. I use one egg and a mix of milk and water, beat it all well together until the right consistency. Put your lard or dripping into pie tin get it smoking hot, whilst waiting for that to get hot boil the kettle and put a drop of the boiling water into the batter mix and whisk really well. this lets more air into the pudding mix and it will really make the puddings rise. When I first make my batter mix I let it stand for about 20 mins to half an hour
