buyers market I'm afraid unless it is really rare.
I have a 1904 bear that belonged to my Great Grandmother, I sometimes look at it and think of my mortgage but my family would kill me.
VBM, steiff bears are the original teddy bears, made by a German seamstress, Margarete Steiff in the 1890s, They were imported to the US at the same time as teddy Roosevelt refused to shoot a tethered baby bear on a hunting trip. Great publicity. It is believed that if those two events hadn't coincided that the teddy bear would never have become the worlds most popular children's toy.
They are handcrafted and individually identified with a button on the ear. Very special and historical bears.
Good luck selling yours, maybe try a collectables forum.

Hi I collect teds as well and have been amazed through ebay what bargains there are to get, it is a shame, you will probably have to keep them for a long time for them to gain in value, but the market is flooded with them so buyers have more to choose from. I don't know where you could sell them, you could try www.oldbear.co.uk/index.htmThey have some lovely bears and a Steiff section. I am on the lookout for the 1906 rose classic if you have one for sale. Carol
