Hi, I did my Intermediate last year and am starting the Advanced course in September (followed by the Diploma) so if your friend would like a chat about any of the course-work I'd be more than happy to help out. The British Assoc. for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) - the main governing body in this country are the people she should contact really although there are several different courses available throughout the country at different collages (both part time and full time) - just need to make sure they're properly accredited! www.counselling.co.ukAnother helpful one is www.choicescounselling.co.ukI'm also at Childline and they're desperate for volunteers - their counsellor training programme is excellent and thorough (although it wouldn't end up with any formal qualifications, just their own Childline Counsellor Cert.) but it would definitely be an introduction into counselling in general for her if she was unsure she wanted to commit to an accredited course - a bit of a 'taster' really! All the best! ;D

Also, there's info on becoming a Chartered Counselling Psychologist on www.bps.org.uk. The British Psychological Society is the professional governing body for psychologists in the UK.
