I've always carried a donor card since I was 18 and legally able to do so - I'm now a lot older and just think that if I can help someone in whatever way then if I carry a card the decision is taken away from those I love to a certain extent. They would know what my wishes are. Good luck and I wish you all the best for the future.

I have always carried a card - I kind of feel that if you would expect to receive an organ donation if you were ill, then you should be a donor - for me its a two way street. The same surely should apply to blood donation?
I hope things work out for you pcmum

I would like to be a donor, but because I have a minor heart defect I don't think I can be a donor for anything!

yep, have a card and have informed my family. Don't know if they'll want my old bits and pieces but they can give it a whirl if I am not going to need them. I wouldn't like them to be used for research though. I know it is very admirable and neccesary but not for me.
