Love chickens, especially bantams. I had four which roamed our garden. They were real characters and I cried buckets when the first cock and hen died - couldn't believe they would have such an impact on our emotions.

do chickens risk passing on anything to the horses. I have always wondered if there was a risk?

no never heard of anything, they are great at pecking up any droped feed and such things, some of mine sit on the horses backs, they come in quiet handy for backing youngsters ,lol.

Too far away for me - we are looking to get some chickens when we come back from holiday next month.
