Just found one of my ducks half drowned, soaking, freezing cold and exhausted in the duck pond. Wet through so have wrapped her in towels and put her in a warm dark room to try and warm her up and dry her off.
Any other ideas? she is exhausted. I have no idea how she got like this but she was moulting very heavilly so had very few feathers to keep her warm and dry. She is shivering lots and looking none too clever!

I'd do exactly as you have done, maybe see if you can put a drop of recue remedy into her beak to counteract the shock factor. I'd offer her some EMP in warm water (egg food) as this is beneficial to them when moulting. and keep her away from the water , with some company, untill she regrows her feathers and they oil up. Fingers crossed she'll be ok.xx

We've kept several families of ducks, but have never experienced this. Do you have drakes? They do become quite violent when mating, and it is fairly common for females to drown, especially when several drakes are involved.
I do hope this has not happened to your poor ducky. Hope she is better soon.

My first thought was also "Gang rape?" . No ducks myself but have heard from smallholder friends that this can happen and that the victim can drown. Hope your Mrs Duck is better now.

She is fit as a fiddle this morning thanks everyone!
I think our call drake had had a bit of a go at her but she is an indian runner! We also only have the one drake. Luckilly by the sounds of it! lol!
We put the heating on and lit a fire (we were sweating like PIGS! lol!) and after 2 hours she jumped pout of her box and ran around quacking like a loony so we decided she was feeling better and put her back in the duck house! All the other ducks think she is really cool now that she has been in the house!
Thanks for all the posts xxx
