Hello, i'm new here. I'm Jodie, i'm 21 and along with help from the family i own a small stud of miniatures and shetland ponies. Have just got into Natural Horsemanship after using similiar type methods as round penning for a few years, but after a meeting with a someone who does natural horsemanship and helped with one of my little nervous ponies, i've found it to be a very helpful way of dealing with a few 'issues' my ponies have.
We are based in Dorset and currently have 2 miniature shetland stallions, 6 miniature/shetland mares, 3 little geldings (from 27" to 36") and 2 other little boys who i'm hoping to sell soon. and if my maths is correct that brings our numbers to 13 ponies currently (unlucky 13......) We also have 3 shetland foals due this year as well. So all the ponies i own are all under 40" tall! And i love it that way. I don't ride much any more after a accidently 7/8 years ago that left me without confidence when on board, but we do enjoy showing, long reining and going for walks with our ponies. We actually have plans to even try to go for a nice walk with a couple of our 'sane' shetlands some time this year along the beach.......which i think will be most entertaining! Just have to find a beach that is open for horses.... (maybe we could pass them off as deformed big dogs?!?!?!)
So i live in a very 'small' world and spend most of my spare time sat in a stable or field at head height with my beloved little herd.
