Hi my name is Suzie, I have 2 horses. A white Arab who is currently visiting my friends stallion also a pure breed Arab and hoping for a positive pregnancy test this month!! I also have a shettie x Welsh skewbald mare who is 10.3hh for my little girls. She is a little angel though on occassion very sharp. My sister and I saw Monty last year, when we were re-breaking a little mare with serious remedial problems, we got her past the health problems, to be left with the physcological scares of them! Joining-up with Katie was like someone had switched the lights on for us, it was amazing to see the transformation and the battles just started to dissapear. Within months the un-rideable she devil was hacking out and jumping ditches and logs. Unfortunately the friend we were training for couldn't get over her fear and she very sadly was sold on..but we were lucky to be able to select a home close to us with 2 fantastic girls who understood her problems and were happy to carry on working with her, shes had a terrific winter with some indoor jumping comps. I'm attending the foal handeling course this summer in preparation for my foal, it has been a while since I had to handle the little demons (my uncle breed Arabs until 8yrs ago!) .. so I am really looking forward to the refresher! Sorry i've gone on a bit C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Pictures\Img0004[/img]

Hi, welcome to the DG. I also have an Arab mare called Sunny (who's in foal to a non arab coloured chappy - foal due early June :-)) and a little connie x pony called Shanti. The foal handling course is fantastic - i did it a couple of years back and it was worth every penny.

Hi Amelia, thanks for the welcome.. it must be very exciting waiting for your foal. I am hopeing that Perdy will get in foal this season but am not holding my breath!! I must admit a June foal sounds a lot nicer for camping out at the stables than a march one!
Are you hoing to keep your foal too?

Yep, well the plan was to keep all 3 but i may have to find a nice IH loan home for Shanti if my finances force it . I was hoping for a slightly earlier foal but she didn't take first time round. I'm already planning the event - i'm hopefully moving into the yard tea room for a few weeks ;D will have tv set up in there linked to cctv camera in the stable. Very nervous now

I'm nervous and Perdy isn't even in foal yet!!!
Sounds like you'll have the tea room set up very cozily.. don't forget your mobile and the phone charger! My plan is for a March/April foal but I guess I'll have to wait and see what mother nature wants. I can't wait to hear how it all goes, you'll have to let me know if Sunny shows you any signs or just gets down and foals. "Blessed are the Broodmares" by M.Phyllis Lose is really great reference book if you're looking for one. I wish you the best of luck, all foals are georgous, especially Arab foals!
