Hiya, I am new to IH and i thought i would write and introduce myself. I have been reading the threads for a few weeks now and think it is great how you all support each other and offer advice and kindness. I have a 6yr old TB mare called Auburn (yes she is chestnut!) who has the kindest nature in the world and loves nothing more then to play with her friends in the field (the faster the better!). Unfortunately she has not been well since May last year (sever arthritis and threeleggedness!) she has not lost her humor though, up til recently she was still showing me her belly when lunging her for the vet!!! - show off!! After exhausting every form of treatment possible we have come to the end of the road. Anyway, I hope that through all my horsey experiences I will be able to offer advice and look forward to receiving all yours!! I'll post some pics when I learn how to!!! Thank you! Louise

Hello, Its always good to have new bods whose brains we pick when needed. I'm really sorry to hear that your mare has come to the end of her time here, however people will be here to support you and give you whatever you need. We have our rainbow bridge section for those who have left us behind. I have two mares at the moment, Sky and Holly bear, Sky's in foal and due may 5th all being well i'd like her to have it the week before but she never listens to me. Bear is also coming along really well, she is a retired eventer who im hoping will come out of retirement now we have breaks! Feel free to PM for a chat if needs be, I have it on very good authority that you are to be \a mine of useful information

Hi Lou :-)
Well this feels weird posting when i actually know the person.
Was thinking that if you didn't quite understand my useless instructions about setting up photobucket account then you could send piccies to me to put on here. Have those ones i took a few weeks back.
Is the boss still away today?

Hi Lou and welcome. Poor you you certainly have been through it with your mare but rest assured you will find the most amazing help and support on this board - they have certainly cheered me at times (and not all horse related) xx

Hi Lou and welcom on the DG! I'm sorry to hear about your mare. Have myself a very sweet (chestnut) mare who will be 20 this month but whose health is going downhill. Will actually know more about her future tomorrow. This board has been such a support to me and I'm sure it will be to you. Lots of people who have experienced the same kind of problems or always have a kind word to say. It does help when you feel a bit lonely and overwhelmed by the situation Looking forward to seeing your pics. I realised yesterday I don't have pics of my mare with me (plenty with others!) so I intend to have some taken this week-end. I love pics...
