Hello everyone, just thought I would say hello, and introduce myself to this great site. Anyway, my name is Joni (said like Joanie!!) I'm 25, married with 2 kiddies, boy and girl 20mths and 4 years, couple hundred ornamental chickens and bantams, and my 2 lovely mares. Blitzen, is 15.2hh Welsh D x 5 year old chestnut mare. She was origionally running with a herd of local wild horses, and I have had her for 3 years now. I have broken her myself, and she is the kindest sweetest mare I have ever known, and very keen to work. She has just done her 1st dressage test, and was placed 2nd, which I was over the moon with. Honey is 15.2hh dark bay, approx 8 years old and is of cob type, with something finer along the line....possibly TB. She is a fairly recent addition, and was amongst the same herd of wild horses. She is proving a little more difficult than Blitzen, most likely because of her age. However, she is still a very sweet little mare and coming round slowly. She will happily lead now with headcollar and leadrope, loves a good groom and lots of cuddles.....just very nervous. Anyway, think thats enough for now....I was going to post a piccie of both, but can't seem to do it....if you want to see them, they are on my site in the chicken section!!! www.sunnybank.org.ukJoni

Hi and welcome to the DG, I am also in Sussex, the West variety and you? I am extremely old with two children (one nearly 19 so no longer a child I am told!) one and a half horses and the best black lab x GSD in the world - oh and a husband too! As you will find this DG is full of odd and varied people and on the whole a great place to be for advise, a moan or a chat.

Hi Joni, I'm in Hailsham also. Just getting back into horses and riding again after a break due to illness. Do you know of any good IH minded riding schools or riding instructors in the area by any chance? Sam

I'm in herstmonceux! didn't know people were so close. Sorry breeze but you live in a bit of a IH desert here. I have a brilliant instructor but she has virtually given up as she has changed careers so doesn't take on new people. I'm looking for something to loan - muxt be 100% hacker, any age but under 15.2 as I'm only small. If you know of anything PM me. Are you going to Mary Wanless at Royal Leisure? I'm going to Monty on friday are you?

Well lets organise this then! Where to meet that's central??? If jonib wants to join then we should go further west otherwise it's somewhere between Ninfield and hailsham - easy! Most evenings I'm free so point me towards a pub!
