Hello, just joined so thought I would introduce myself.
I live in Wiltshire and I have a 14yo irish cob called Cherry. She lured me into buying her at the beginning of November! I have been horse-mad all my life and had a lovely ArabX as a teenager. Gave him up for love and then started popping out children so my life and finances were taken up with that. Had one riding lesson this year and floodgates of obsession opened again.
And now I am like a pig in the proverbial again with Chez. She is just discovering that she can pull me wherever she likes due to her strength and whilst she is not malicious, when there is a stray haynet or some other foody looking thing around I end up looking like a water skiier as she scoots me across the yard! I can't compete with a chunky hairy beast and I don't want to shout or smack her. I don't take any nonsense mind but have come back into all this with more passion about how a horses mind works so I don't want to start building any barriers between us. I came on line to look up pressure halters and ended up watching Monty's video about the Dually and then found the message boards, so here we are!
Does anyone here use a Dually? I think it would be good for Cherry as she is generally a poppet on the lead but gets distracted by food so it could be a useful deterrent for a comparative lightweight like me......
This is us.... (gazing artistically into "middle distance" as they say!!!!)
and a front view....
