Hallooo from Bath, well, it's only just in Somerset but a stone's throw from Wilts.
Barrd, we must be nearly neighbours. I kept my horses in Monkton Farleigh until earlier this year. Cx

Arrr, or should that be oooo-aarrr? Corsham is only about 10 minutes drive from Bath. Do you do your horse shopping at Wadswick?

No ooooo-aarrr'ing here, I've got no Wilts accent I don't own any horses, just an interest in them but If I did then yes Wadswick would be the place, its just down the road from here.

Whoops ! I have to say I haven't got the local accent either, being an Essex gel.
I love Wadswick but only to look, I can't afford their prices. There's a lovely tack shop in Larkhall, just as you get into Bath, very Natural Horemanship, they sell the whole range of Monty stuff, including Dually's, it's rapidly turning into a drop-in place for IH people. Recommend a visit, even if you are presently horseless.......

No worries I've a strange hybrid accent, a bit of this - bit of that I'll try and look Larkhall up before I go (leaving the country-ish soon I hope). Shame I didn't know you earlier, was looking for Wilts people a while ago offering help and got very little response on the old board, ah well, there you go...

These things take time, or so I've been told....I've lived in the same house now for 25 years.
What sort of help are you...or were you..offering?
I've got a shetland I need a hand long-lining around the lanes with. And an arab who needs some work, if you've got a spare few hours here and there?

Wow, 25 years in one place, I've lived in so many houses and so many countries in the same time I've lost count Not always a good thing though. As for help, to be honest I am no horse expert, I can certainly lead horses but wouldn't know how to go about working one, I've watched varkie work her horses but haven't done it myself. I was offering to poo pick and do general other types of menial maintenance, that at least I know I can do I just like being around them and can even keep upright when riding one though have far to go before mastering the fine art of riding Varkie is well known here and has met me in real life, she can tell you more about my capabilities with horses than I can - I've worked on her yard and even ridden one of her horses. I mention this as one day maybe we could meet up, I'd love to see your horses and possibly talking to someone here who has met me might persuade you that I am not an Internet nutter if you know what I mean

Yaaay, you do poo-picking!!
Honestly, the long-lining thing is easy....I just need somebody to be there in case the pocket rocket pony decides to take a swift diversion through a garden or a hedge.
If your a friend of Varkie's.....I've always had great respect for her threads....it's good enough for me, promise I'm not an internet nutter either!! My email address is on my profile, get in touch if you like and you are more than welcome to come and meet the neds and help out.

That would be fun, and I do have some experience with tinies, in fact lets just say I'm quite happy around them, I'm guessing she/he likes a good ole bum scratch? They'll move round, most folk get nervous thinking a 'kick' is coming then they just thrust their rear end out wanting a good old scratch. I do know when to duck though... but if its right they'll get a good old scratch. Your Arab sounds like quite an animal too. I have yet to meet one (an arab horse that is), I have much to learn Yup, I do poo picking, I'm also trained in other arts I can also spot Ragwort etc.

That's it.....you must DEFINATLY come over. Especially to do the scratchy pony bit. She wouldn't kick though, she just waggles her top lip around and gets that dewy eyed look.
When are you free?
(Yes, by the way, I really am logging on this early, just looked outside and it's the most gorgeous morning, going to go and ride before it gets too hot).
