I'm in Yorkshire too, but at the bottom end (literally ;D ) It's a good job you stuck a big grin on the end there - we're hard nuts slightly north of the Notts border you know It's good to see former lurkers joining in!

Well it's been some time, and wot a change, don't know how long you've had the new look but when i was last here there were definitely plenty asking for it.
Disappeared because of the anons and other activities, if "Pie" and others are still here, you'll know wot, i mean, and Yes my spelling is still as bad, perhaps i might find a spell checker some were among all the new features.
Anyway going to have a look round and see who's still here.
Hello to all the great Yorkshire folk here, don't want to start trouble on my first visit back, but we are the best folk around. lol

Hi there! Yup...another one from Yorkie! I used to go on the DG a long time ago but stopped when people were getting abusive towards each other. Anyway I'm going to give it a go, I like the new format.
Actually, strictly speaking, we're not from Yorkshire! We moved to Ottley 4 years ago, and then York 3 years ago . We love it up here and won't be moving on. Having said that, the riding here is useless in the Vale of York (completely flat....obviously!!!) compared to Exmoor...I've been spoilt with the most amazing riding country I think. I did an Endurance ride in Dalby Forest last year, which was much more like the terrain we're used to, and was simply beautiful.
My ArabxNF girlie is 31 and retired 2 years ago. And my boy is a 23yo Arab and still going very strong. Last year we were still doing short distance endurance at 10kph. However, he's looking very hairy already and extremely tubby and unfit, as I haven't ridden for a year. He got a shock last week when I was back in the saddle again!! Actually, my legs felt it a bit the next day!! Anyway 'fit for summer'....here we come!! Probably pleasure rides and SJ mainly. I'm also booked onto Kelly's 'Perfect Manners' course in May next year, so really looking forward to that.
And just to top the 'about me'(!), I'm 37 with 2 dogs (a staffy and a beautiful little rescued mongrel). Oh yeah, and I have a truely wonderful hubby (48) - Nick - I wouldn't swap him for the world!
So, after that long essay of an introduction, "Hello" everyone, nice to meet you all!!!
Vicki

LOL! Naff all, too busy mucking out and removing clods of mud at the mo! We breed a few (want to breed and show our own stock), have the stallions so have visiting mares in summer and hopefully some showing next year as not shown anything this year (got distracted by the babies)!
Who are your horses and how are they bred? Always love talking pedigrees...
Oh, and we are the same age!
Have you found Arabian lines . com yet? We are having another northern night out soon if you want to talk Arab all night? Sam's coming too.

Hi i'm from yorkshire too, just East of the A1, and above the M62 - so just in north yorks. I've two horse - rosie - a 6 yo TB chestnut mare and Sammy a Welsh A about 14 yo. I used to do loads of competing, but now have 4 boys and no transport, so only go where we can hack - basically the Garforth RC shows at Hillam Feeds and the ones at homestead livery yard in monk Fryston. cheers J

Another one here from Yorkshire,I'm in N.Yorks., near Pickering. I'm fairly new to this or any dg, in fact this is the first dg I've ever posted on!! ;D Showing my age!! Sorry, I've been very rude posting since October last year without introducing myself! I'm a 'born again' horse owner who's ended up probably with too many--4 mini shets and 4 biggies--- we're all very happy though! We're happy hackers,I'd love to learn to drive though! Really enjoying the dg--have learned loads and I don't feel 'weird' anymore ;D So thanks so much for that!
