i can,t believe it i have just started riding otter after a long break, (through his injury) and tonight he has gone and kicked a metal 5 bar gate put his leg through and got caught, poor sod, it is the same bloody leg everytime. he then thought the gate had attacked him so was rearing and prancing all the way to his stable, his leg has had the hair taken off on his cannon bone (like he has been skinned) but he seems to be standing alright on them, i have just left him with loads of hay and a nice deep bed and my poor hubby has been standing stirring the dinner for 2 hours while i just nipped up the road

Poor boy. I'm sure he'll be fine though.
When I first got my lovely arab, on loan, he got mud fever. We put him in a concrete yard for a few days for his legs to dry out. Disaster. He slipped over and managed to get all four feet stuck through the bars of a metal farm gate. He then rolled over and took the gate off it's hinges, and ended up laying on his back with all four feet stuck through the bars of the gate on top of him, like some mad trussed up beetle. He had very swollen legs for about a week, but amazingly enough he totally recovered, and only has a tiny white scar on his off hind to show for it.

well been up this morning, his leg is swollen but no lameness, i have put a aerborn cool air gaiter (highly recommend) on, to bring the swelling down, he is so good he just stood there while i washed his leg and put his antiseptic cream on so fingers crossed he should be fine, i think out of the two of them the gate has come off the worst
