:-/Had a jumping lesson today on Jack. And for some reason something was really scaring me. He was being very sharp but that doesn't normally bother me. Jumps weren't big either. I did them, but when I was about to do a straight for the 4th/5th time, I just froze. I had no problems with Oxers, apart form when the cross at the front was put up to a straight the same height at back, but I've jumped bigger than that plenty of times! To start with, he stopeed at the oxer, btu that didn't bother me, and jumping that I was fine with, btu the straight adn then when Oxer went up mynerves just took over and I couldnt' so them

oh how funny. i had a jumping lesson on my mums horse Jack today. i was nervous as hell as i havent jumped 4 a year due to lack of facilities. Jack doesnt know much either so we started at 2ft and didnt go any higher as he just got the idea of that. im so proud of him but i was sooooo nervous cantering into the jump as he had been trying to run out as he didnt know what to do with his feet. we did it tho. dont ever do higher than you are comfortable with until you feel ok about it. i wont do higher than 2'6ft until i feel confident enough.

Well, it is actually ok to have a bad day Who knows, it might have been a premonition--if you had taken the jumps who knows what might have happened? Or perhaps you're feeling a bit tired and run down and weren't feeling like it anyway. Much better to end on a good-ish note than to force the issue and self-sabotage. Next time you'll be perfectly ok
