It is hard sometimes because you lose the support you get on a big yard. Mind you, sometimes you get more "support" than you want don't you? So I prefer to have my own space. Go for it - if it doesn't work out then you could always go back to livery - but I don't think you will ;D EMW or Lesley can possibly supply a companion pony...

The plus side is there will be no-one to annoy you, the downside is that there will be no-one to help you! Have you got someone who would share with you or are you going to be on your own? Good luck and £20 sounds great!

I am considering doing just that although I love my yard I cannot let my girls live out, I am looking at various places, one is 2 1/2 acres with a field shelter and a sand school no electric but water, he asks £15 per horse though and the per horse worries me as Id have to rent extra grazing while I allowed the grass to rest and then it would cost me more
The other place is 3 acres for 15 a week field shelter and water nothing else, with 2 big girls I need to consider the grazing well

Hi,
I have got summer grazing 3 acres all to myself and my two horses for £5 per horse per week. £40 per month. My friend has got two stables, tack room, two fields about 1 1/2 acres and she pays £10 per week per horse so £80 per month for her two horses.
I am looking for land to rent or buy in leicestershire for my two boys, the best I have seen is a 3 acre field for my boys only £50 per week. But I am keeping my eyes open.

EMW = Equine Market Watch - just type that into your search engine and you'll find their phone number easily. I can never remember how to spell Trawllm Farm, which is Lesley's place, but I'm sure someone here will help you out Oh yes, of course if you don't need to ride the pony then Blue Cross might be able to help as well. They have a bit of a shortage of riding horses and ponies, but companions might be easier.

Hi Gem,
LOL, There is 3 other horses with 4 owners (2 people own 1 horse) they have there own field, its much bigger than mine about 5/6 acres, but only 2 of the horses have stables. They dont have a field shelter, but there tackroom is bigger than mine, but they have 2 store there hay in there.....They also have use of toilet, taps.....
Its a very small private yard...and like i said i really do apperciate that my girls and i are very happy....as i now know not every horse/owner is......
Oh and if its any conselation Gem, i typed wrong about, i pay £75 per calander month, not £45 lol
Take Care...Lv
