All mine (bar one) are natives so I don't need to pull as such but do give a good tidy up for the show ring. I had to cut quite a lot off the bottom of my two youngsters tails this weekend as they were dragging in the mud! I hope they grow back before our first show! Tray, Are you talking about the coloured cob? If so she is not a pure section D as they don't come in black and white. She looks like she would do well in the tradional natives classes though if you kept everything hairy!

personal preference only - hate pulled tails, think they look horrible. But then I don't show!

"I hate it when people clip the whole top of horses tails off, looks ridiculous!" I couldn't agree more! I went to see a pony once where the mother had left her son a note to 'say someone is coming to see the pony so can you tidy him up a bit' and he took off all the top of the tail with a solo comb, I mean the whoole thing even the middle. He was such a lovely pony that we bought him anyway, and 3 yrs later it looks a lot better. It was a nightmare when it started to grow back, it just stood up like a bog brush!
