Ponies, i love the cheekyness and the cuteness, there intelligence and the real bond you can get with a pony. I prefer riding ponies too as i am only small and prefer a short stride. However i also like 'ponyhorses' as i call them, which are smallish horses 15-15.2hh which are ponylike in most respects except for their size! I own and compete my pony but also compete and ride two 'ponyhorses' i dislike riding anything bigger than 16hh!!

I love them all but agree with lucyjake - its so hard to get a real confidence giver in a pony - the gentle ones are always giants!

I am a pony person, well heightwise. I just prefer dealing with smaller equines and feel more comfortable riding closer to the ground. That is why Gydja is so perfect, she is only little (about 12.3) but she rides like a horse and has the personality to match. She is a great confidence giver, brave but sensible with plenty of character but not cheeky. Beryl I just adore because she is so lovely and gentle (even if she is realy nervy to ride).

Ponies for me. Always cheeky and full of character, usually very opinionated and make those opinions known.... think I just like the challenge! I actually only own one and a half horses that are at home, one a 2yr old to make about 16hh the half a tb broodmare! Everything else is 14hh or under.

I voted both because I love cheeky ponies but can't ride anything below 14.2hh (too heavy) so have to go for small horses. But I do adore my small horses! Don't like horses above 16hh.
