I have been thinking about few options with regards helping myself out with Angel.
I have been looking for a Welsh C mare/filly forshowing/breeding in the future, however one I put a deposit ons owner changed her mind the next day (I am yet to recieve the deposit back, she has until friday!)
I am now considering putting off this purchase for another year (I had wanted to buy one last year but got a rescue instead!) though I know this will dissapoint people who I have said I will go and view.
This will free up money to pay for Angels vets bills and hopefully some towards some mesh panels (I am being given 5 of these panels for free that have been at a freinds yard that are no longer used...need another 10-15 now.)
Now the other thing is time. I have two yearlings, two two year olds and two three year olds with Angels and anothers foal due any day, along with the oldies, broodmares, stallion and my ridden pony. I was intending to keep both the yearlings (I bred them) but with Angel taking up so much of my time and she probably will continue too it is probably going to be best for them to sell them, which shouldnt be hard as they are both registared, quality ponies and well handled, though im loathe to sell them as I had wanted to bring up one as part of a driving pair with her mum (they look identical!) and the other (coloured colt) I was going to keep for my son. The only other thing I can think of would be to loan out my 3yr old filly but i dont know of anyone who wold want to loan a 3yr old who I wouldnt want ridden (not bothered about a toddler having a sit on once a fortnight though)
Its not that I cant manage well as they are now, its just I would like to be able to spend more time with Angel without taking time away from those youngsters who need handling and life lessons, mind you they are all better handled and more well behaved than a lot of youngsters ive met!
Out of curiosity is anyone currently looking for a companion?
