Bobby is getting through about four bales a week at the moment, plus lots of Simple Systems Lucie Stalks, Lucie Bix, Unmolassed Sugarbeet and his usual amount of Top Spec Balancer.

Haven't started feeding my natives yet! They all live out, unrugged, and are as fat as butter! There isn't too much grass left now, so I'll probably start giving them some hay in a week or two, before they start dropping weight. It may be a different story if they were doing any work, but at the moment they're pretty much equines of leisure!

I'm quite lucky as we usually only have approx 3 acres and the grazing is normally non-existent at this time of year for our 3 (1 TB and 2 natives) but we have had access to a 10 acre for the last mth so whereas we were haying in the field, we haven't had to, i was only commenting this morning on how much hay we haven't used as they are not finishing it in the stables either as got full up tummies!

We thought it strange as our two retirerees, out 24/7 have always got hay left but are fat and warm. Normally we would be thinking of ordering more but have about 70 bales left!

Mine are getting through 2 bales a day now the snow is here. Four out 24/7 on 5 acres of good grazing. They usually get one bale between the four of them and can take it or leave it. But the snow is so deep they can't get at the grass at the moment so are glad of the hay. All toastie warm and happy to be out. 2 natives and 2 young warmblood x's. Really nice hay £2 a bale, delivered.

Our two are munching their way through two bales a day of timothy hay, no grass to speak of though; I might try foggage next year as their summer grazing is restricted anyway and we have to cut it, so at least foggage will save some work!

My four ponies get enough hay from a big round bale to keep then going til lunchtime, then they have the paddock and hill to roam on. They are all rather plump; the two horses get ad lib hay all day as they are in a smaller paddock and cannot roam the hill, and they work more than the ponies. These two also get two feeds a day, Alfa A and sugar beet with apples and carrots. I cannot guess exactly how much I have used on the horses as the sheep get ad lib hay all day too.

Our big guys just started getting hay when we had the snow, and they'll now be getting hay every day. At the moment it's only a couple of sections each a day, but within a couple of weeks it'll be more I should think. Our fields have done very well, but we're just starting to run out of grass now.
Our tinies though still have plenty of grass, and don't need any hay yet. Think they'll probably need it sometime in February.

60 bales (so far) this season. Thats for two large hunting thoroughbreds-out by day on good pasture and in overnight. I ordered 120 so I should be OK unless we get something weird like snow on the ground until May.

Since mid December I use 3 bales (small ones) per day for 3 horses. They don't have access to grass.
