I've got a Nissan Terrano, older one, and I love it. It is very nice to drive and I think it's comfortable as well. I tried a Dihatsu but couldn't cope with the fairly basic "ride". My Terrano (called Terry of course) is fairly good on fuel (it's a diesel) and I reckon I get 30mph when not towing. If you can resist the temptation to put your foot down on the motorway, it will still give you about 30mpg. It tows my Richardson Rosette trailer with two sturdy 14 -15 hh beasties in it up hill and down dale with no problem and that includes two adults and all the gear for horses and camping as well. Having said all that, if money was no object, I would love a Shogun as I think they are the best for driving and also for towing but even second hand they are out of my price range

Ive got Nissan Terrano which isnt bad. A good idea is to get What Car guide magazine, it tells you things like insurance, running costs, fuel comsumption etc....
