new.petitiononline.com/olympia/petition.htmlThe wording of the petition addressed to the BBC to sell the idea to them. If you wish to add a comment when you sign your name, word it as if you were addressing the person in charge of the Olympia TV coverage. Now we need to get the word around a bit. If anyone is a member of any M&M, breed society forum or MSN groups etc, I would be grateful if you could start a thread about this campaign and post a link direct to the petition. Im sure they will be keen to support it!

I've signed. I rememer as a child being so excited at the coverage on TV, when they showed highlights of two or three classes a day, plus the displays. Why is there the need now to only show the world cup qualifier, which will be great I'm sure, but not the kind of fun thing that grabs the attention of only semi horsey people and enthuses them to the sport. The fancy dress relay, and the puissance and the relay involving riders from other sports etc which I pressume still go on give a good show to people who don't follow show jumping but like the entertainment. Watching those classes can encourage people to gaoin an interest in the more serious competitions. Oh how I dream of the coverage in the 70's.

300 votes now!
Agree with Hazel, I remember when they also aired the fun stuff of yester year. Especially the impersonation round where the showjumpers would jump a round pretending to be someone else and take the mickey by riding as awfully as possible.
