What lovely horses.
Just a question freckles, How much did it cost to take your horses over to Spain as we might be moving there later in the year as my boyfriend has been offered a job over there.
Thanks Pip.

yay... other spotaloosa fans ;D ;D
Weve had apploosas for many years my mum's died a few years ago and then we got a filly which we had to sell.. i was looking for one to buy not long ago but couldnt find any i could afford so went for my lovely chestnut.
The spotted horse in the picture (Taz) i think.. i dont think is an appaloosa.. they tend to be 14.2 to 15.3. Anything below that is generally a spotted pony (different breed). The fading spots is only if they have the greying gene (look into his breeding if his sire or dam has faded, he will probably fade)

Hi Pip, your appy is lovley, there are not many appy's over here, i think there are only 90 registered ones!!!! so they can be expensive to buy here, and stud fee is more expensive than the UK too. i used John Parkers, it was (i think) £1700 for the 2 of them, that was door to door, and they do all the paperwork, including vet check the horses arrived in great condition, they stabled them overnight near their place in Dover, and then they where stabled every night on the way down, (it took about 3-4 days) the staff were quiet and confident around them too. where might you be moving to in Spain? im at a place called Bocairent, its inland, an hours drive from Alicante if you want more info about keeping your horse over here feel free to get in touch, ive set up a website for people thinking of or have moved abroad. groups.yahoo.com/group/Horse-Spain/?yguid=136444268email Jendeakin@aol.com hi Megan, mine are all different heights, Freckles 16hh, Funny 15.2hh, Kimera 14.3hh at the moment, but hopefully still growing, and Ticky (who is the best bred) is only 14.1 half hh but is still registered appy. must admit though it does bug me when i see a 12hh pony advertised as an appaloosa, just because its got spots. jenny xx
