Hi I've recently had my new girl she's been with me for 2 weeks now, she will be 6 months old in a few days. She has already had good handling up to now. She's halter trained and will walk with you nicely and she's already had the farrier and is generally good and likes people. The last couple of days though she's started to get a bit boulshy. It happens when I bring her in and she is separated from the other horses, she gets a bit panicked and wants to go back especially if she hears them call. So much so that she will try and barge into me or kick out to break free and she is already a big girl! I'm not too concerned at the moment as she is just a baby and not long weaned and in a new home. But rather than making any mistakes is there any handling anyone can recommend to help with this behaviour? Or would I be best leaving her out for a bit and start doing work in a couple of months?

I would try and get an RA out, not sure where you are but hopefully there is someone in your area.

It's totally unnecessary & cruel!! It sounds to me like you are maybe anxious or on edge even just a tiny bit, your horse will sense this & it will have an impact on her behaviour I would highly recommend firstly for you to check out any holistic therapists that are near by & the treatments they offer which will relax you entirely & see how she responds to you, meditation & reiki would be my 1st choice 😊
