My mare Izzy had laminitis for the first time in 23years of her life , thinking about it partly my fault put her on smaller paddock to manage her weight with shorter grass ,not thinking of sugars in the short grass or the fact that I'd fertiliser it a few weeks previous sigh.
Any way we caught it early and she is now completely sound and back to her old self , I've been leaving her out in bare paddock with my mini during the day , vet has said to try her back in old routine and see how she goes. I was thinking down the lines of turning her out on the knee high grass for short periods at a time and gradually increasing turnout over time .
Would really appreciate hearing other people's experiences and how they manage their horse thankyou.A appreciate every horse is different 😁 Izzy will now be retired so only exercise will be inhand foraging round the village 😁
Thankyou 😁
