would a garden arch be a good idea for going under things? anyone got a course set up?? please share your photos to give ideas, and would love to watch your videos if you have any of you and your horse doing it. and I been watching peoples videos on youtube and came across this one,I don't know the people at all but it has some funny bits of the ponies going off and not doing it and going back to their field by themselves.that was funny, I enjoyed watching it so thought Id share. dohhh I forgot the video

In all honesty, I didn't find that video funny and spent most of it cringing. The ponies did not look to be enjoying it and some of it was dangerous such as the arch falling, legs getting tangled up in the hoops and asking the pony to stand on a round pole that could cause injury if they slip off rather than a flat plank. The kicking and bucking did not look to be 'exuberance' but instead looked like frustration.
I'm not against horse agility at all but items used need to be safe, fit for purpose (eg. Anything you ask them to stand on needs to be flat topped, stable and strong enough) and you need to ensure that they are physically able to do what is being asked (eg. Jumping the cavaletti).
Like with any aspect of horse training, it is important to know exactly what you are asking for and how, rewarding at the right time and being 100% consistent. Before you begin, think through the process and have it established in your mind rather than confuse the horse by making it up as you go along.

yes agree clipclop I did cring at the start of the video, but I did find it funny when the pony went off back to his feld by himself, that was funny. I am sure they are clips over a time that are things that went wrong and joined all together. not just one whole time videoed but I might be wrong? I suppose we only learn by our mistakes or watching mistakes. and it all helps to help not to make the same ones. I haven't done it yet,and I have already learned some things by watching this video. I brought a load of things today for my start of my course making
