grrrrrrr, midges,we have had bright sunny days the last couple of days and up comes the midges in force
I am not sure but I think I myself might have a problem with them, last year I developed an allergy to hair dye, I had for years and years coloured my hair, then last year my head started being very itchy after colouring it.
I found a new hair colour-which was water colour and chemical free Daniel fields water colour.
I found I was fine with it, I had shampoo from doctors and anti his tablets and it all cleared up
and all winter I have been fine colouring my hair.
well the last few days the sun has been out,and I coloured my hair with the water colour, my head was so itchy back to how it was before.
I have noticed loads of midges out and around outside and I am now wondering if its been midges biting my head the whole time, maybe after colouring my hair they are more attracted to the smell?
the only way I am going to know is to cover my head from now on when outside with the horses.
I have done skin tests with colour last year but my body would have already been heightened because of the midge bites, wouldn;t it?
grrrrrrrrrrrrrr blinking midges I will let you now how I get on

is there anyone else suffer too? also regarding horses and midges, I have been wondering lately if nervous horses suffer more from midge bites? if it makes them more prone to sweet itch?
where I live breeds midges with the conditions, ditches everywhere so I might as well study them and their effects as I have to live with the little blighters

I also live in a high Midge zone, although it's still to cold for them up here. They irritate the hell out of me but thankfully I'm not allergic to them. I wouldn't have thought it's been midges the whole time with you, surely the rest of your body would be affected to?
With horses the only thing I have noticed is greys definitely seem to be more affected.

well the last couple of days I been covering my head, and they bitten me on my eye and my neck, and I have reacted to the bites so it does looks like it might be the problem I have been having with my head but the verdict is still out.I am still not sure if its related to colouring my hair?? I hope it is as simple as being bitten by midges and not hair dye allergy. fingers crossed blinking allergies and blinking midgies
